Ukrainian Business MeetUp in the Heart of Birmingham

Our very first Kryla Business MeetUp took place in true British style — at one of the most iconic pubs in Birmingham, the Old Joint Stock Pub, right in the city centre. 

And honestly, it was one of those evenings when everyone said: “This is exactly what we needed!”

More than 30 participants joined us — Ukrainian entrepreneurs in the UK and those who are just starting to explore their business ideas. The evening was filled with stories, experiences, bold ideas and plans for the future. Some spoke about their running businesses, others about their very first steps. But the most exciting part? People really listened, supported each other, asked questions — and even started new collaborations on the spot.

This wasn’t just another meet-up. It was the beginning of a new Ukrainian business community in the West Midlands. We saw how important it is to have a space where we can speak the same language — both literally and in terms of business. A space built on trust, shared challenges, and mutual support.

People didn’t just leave with business cards — they left inspired to take action: to launch, to grow, to ask, to connect, to be brave. This is exactly how strong business communities are born.

We knew right away — this can’t be a one-off event. And that’s why we’re now launching Kryla Business MeetUps as a monthly series.

These events are created for Ukrainians in the UK who run businesses or plan to start one. It’s a space for networking, sharing knowledge, finding solutions, and building something together. We also invite experienced professionals to share advice, answer questions, and support each other on this journey.
