We are delighted to invite you to the official launch of Time Train– an inspiring book created by Ukrainian young and elderly generations.

This book is more than just a story.

It is about the childhood and youth of our grandparents, their dreams, challenges, and joys during a time when life was completely different.

In 2022, after the full-scale war in Ukraine began, many families were forced to leave their homes and seek refuge in the United Kingdom. Along with their suitcases, they brought not only belongings but also warm memories, favourite recipes, songs, traditions, and invaluable life experiences. This book is the result of the joint efforts of Ukrainian teenagers and the older generation to preserve and pass on these stories to future generations. Young people aged 11–19 independently wrote the texts and created the illustrations, expressing their vision and emotions through their work.

Our goal is not just to tell stories about the past but to share them with Ukrainian children who are growing up in the UK today. After all, to truly understand oneself, it is essential to know where you come from and what values are carried within your roots.

So, come and embark on an exciting journey through time—into the world of our grandparents, their lives, traditions, and their deep, unwavering love for their homeland, Ukraine.
