Kryla, meaning “wings” in Ukrainian, symbolise the spirit of freedom and empowerment. We wish that Ukrainians arriving in the UK in search of safety could rediscover this spirit. That’s why we stand alongside our community, extending a helping hand and comprehensive support throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
As Ukrainians ourselves, we understand the challenges of adapting to a new life – the complexities of navigating a different culture, the frustration of language barriers, the difficulty of finding your place in a new country. And we want our fellow Ukrainians to know that they are not alone in their journey.
Our mission is to create a supportive environment where Ukrainians can spread their wings and reach new heights. At Kryla, children will find a nurturing space to heal and play, young people will discover opportunities to connect and grow, and adults will receive the support they need to integrate and thrive.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who volunteers and supports KRYLA in helping Ukrainians in the UK. Your dedication to our projects — whether through offering your time, skills, or resources — brings hope and help to those who need it most. Your compassion and commitment inspire us every day, and together, we are making a meaningful impact.
